Rabbis For Human Rights Opposes the Omnibus Law of Arrangements (Economic Arrangements Bill)

Poverty in IsraelRabbis for Human Rights have come out in opposition of many aspects of the 2006 Omnibus Law of Arrangements (Economic Arrangements Bill). The Omnibus Law of Arrangements, by its very existence, has the potential for having detrimental influences on both political and economic processes with regards to the poor in Israel.

Rabbis for Human Rights held a workshop dealing with the 2006 Omnibus Law of Arrangements (Economic Arrangements Bill) on Thursday May 25, 2006. Speakers will include Leah Liebermann-Bender of SHATIL (the New Israel Fund’s empowerment and training center), Penina Firston of The Coalition of Women for Peace (Bat Shalom, The Fifth Mother, Machsom Watch, Noga - Feminist Journal, NELED, Women In Black, New Profile, TANDI - Movement of Democratic Women for Israel and WILPF- The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom- Israel) and Rabbi Idit Lev, the Economic/Social Justice Director of Rabbis For Human Rights.
