Rabbi Idit Lev
Rabbi Idit Lev was elected as Vice-Chair of the Worldwide Conservative/Masorti Movement in December 2002. After receiving her Rabbinic Ordination from the Schechter Rabbinical Seminary in December 2004, she became an advocate and counselor for Keshet-Rabbis who hold that GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender) Jews should be embraced as full, open members of all of the congregations and institutions of the Rabbinical Assembly, and be able to fully participate in community life and achieve positions of professional and lay leadership.
Rabbi Lev is the Economic/Social Justice Director for RHR and is active in the Amutat Alon association which provides information and counseling services to unemployed individuals who are compelled by law to participate in Israel’s Wisconsin Program. Rabbi Lev is a frequent lecturer on issues of Economic Justice and Judaism, and Israel as the Middle East’s Democracy.
