Rabbi Dr. Dalia Sara MarxRabbi Dr. Dalia Sara Marx teaches Liturgy and Midrash at Hebrew Union College/Jewish Institute of Religion in Jerusalem.

Rabbi Marx received her Rabbinic ordination from the Israeli Rabbinic program at HUC-JIR, Jerusalem - Cincinnati 2003. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Semitic linguistics and women’s studies ,a master’s in rabbinic literature and her Ph.D., all from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem.

Dr. Marx has published “New Paths in Contemporary Reform Liturgy in Israel and in the Diaspora” and “Hakhavaya Shebalev”, The Israeli Reform Prayer Book for Children and Youth. Rabbi Marx has done extensive research on textual, historical and theological aspects of ritual and prayer and often lectures on subjects ranging from self identity and prayer, the mind/body relationship to religious practice and liturgy, and the discriminatory practices of places of worship.

Rabbi Marx was the 2005 Walter Jacob Jubilee Fellow at The Abraham Geiger College at the University of Potsdam, Germany’s rabbinical seminary, where she taught Jewish texts.

She lives in Jerusalem with her husband Roly Zylberstein and their children, Noam, Tom and Niv.
