Me´ot Hittim - Kimha De-Fisha: Meeting the needs of the poor and destitute

Maot Hittim“..Acquire Wheat and distribute it amongst the poor, for Passover..”

Hagaot HaRaMah, Orach Hayim 429:1

According to the Talmud and Shulchan Aruch, we are obliged to contribute to a communal fund in order to ensure a supply of flour for mazzot for the poor. Rabbis for Human Rights interperts this concept as our obligation to help meet all of the holiday needs of the poor and destitute. Our Me’ot Hittim - Kimha De-Fisha fund faces growing needs and numerous requests. Your generous contributions can help us with the following projects:

Ethiopian Families

This is our 18th year of providing Pesach foods for needy, large and single parent families from Ethiopia in Ashkelon. The families that we provide packages of Passover foods for are all in dire economic situations. With your help we hope to provide food for 123 large indigent families. A food package costs the equivalent of $80 or 280 shekels.
